It reads the file, not only the file name

Khoj looks at the content of each file. It reads text in scans and photos, listens to recordings, and looks at the frames of a video.

Three steps to your first search

  1. Choose your folders

    Add Documents, Desktop, a project folder or a shared drive. Leave out what you do not want searched.

  2. Let it read once

    Khoj reads your files in the background. It can wait for the charger and for the hours you set, so your work does not slow down.

  3. Press the shortcut and type

    Open Khoj from any app. Type a few words about the file and open it from the results. New and changed files are read when they are saved.

Khoj reads and searches everything on your own machine. Turn off Wi‑Fi and it still works the same way.
